Welcome to Lisa Zaran's Poetry

Lisa was born on September 26, 1969 in Los Angeles, California to an American-Norwegian mother, Joan Ablett (1941) and Norwegian father, Leonhard Hoie (1937-1996) She has two sisters and one brother.

Lisa grew up a shy and quiet girl. She did well in school and was gifted with her father's love for the written word. She wrote her first poem entitled, Hallway, when she was six years old.

Growing up, Lisa moved over 40 times across the western United States and Alaska.

I really love your poems. I believe my favorite one to be so far would be "Love is Believable." I will be honest. I usually don't enjoy poems that dont ryhme as much as those that do. But I think you are one of the only poets I have read poems by that can pull of the not rhyming. I just would like to say to you keep up the good work. :)

i like her poem 'Go On' too. i don't really understand poems sometimes but i think i grew to like it. i hope liza-san will write more poems. (:

I really like her "Go On" poem.
at first i didnt understand it but i wasnt being open minded. but then i was and i got it and i love it
